East Central is one of the only NFU Scotland regions that covers all aspects of the agricultural sectors which is a fantastic challenge to manage.
We have a membership of more than 1000 stretching from Dalwhinnie to the Firth of the Forth and from the coast to Aberfeldy and Braco.
As your Regional Manager for East Central, I will continue my work locally with Regional Chair Caroline Millar, regional representatives, group secretaries and head office staff, presidential office bearers, and of course assisting you, our members, as much as I can.
We cannot underestimate the challenges facing the region – the impact of Brexit, Covid, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, climate change, labour shortage and species re-introduction - the list goes on. The Union will continue to represent your views, and be at the forefront of negotiations to get the best deal for our farmers and crofters on whatever the matter
