What advice is available for activities where maintaining two metre social distancing at all times is not possible?

NFUS has been working with members and others to seek suitable Scottish Government guidance to cover circumstances where standard requirements to observe two metre spacing between individuals cannot always be observed.

The Scottish Government has revised (30 June) its advice. This follows extensive discussions with stakeholders including Health Protection Scotland.  Although not listed in the title of the Scottish Government’s document the potato sector has been involved throughout so the advice is also applicable to it. See specific guidance here.

It should be noted that food production is deemed to be an essential activity, with businesses continuing to operate as long as they can adhere to the advice contained in the document.  When the Scottish Government begins to allow other businesses, e.g. the ornamental sector, to re-open we would expect much of the advice to remain applicable until the threat of COVID-19 is gone or very significantly reduced.
