Membership Categories

Farming Membership

If you are a farmer, crofter or grower involved in agricultural production then you can join NFU Scotland as a full member. Your subscription will be based on:

  • the area and type of land you farm if you are a farmer
  • your annual turnover if you are involved in horticulture
  • a flat rate if you are a crofter and you can signup and join online now.

Professional

There are numerous reasons to consider joining NFU Scotland as a professional member and these can be broken into three main categories:

Information Services

This allows you to keep yourself and company completely up to date on what is important across Scottish Agriculture. You will have access to a suite of documentation, reports and Business Guide Updates which will keep you informed.

You are allowed to provide us with up to 5 email addresses which will all receive via email the latest bulletins and news.

Marketing Services

Every month NFU Scotland produces it’s own magazine called the Scottish Farming Leader packed full of all the latest industry news and what is happening across the Union and Scottish Agriculture.

All professional members receive the vast majority of our discounts and services and those companies wishing to promote their product or services to our some 8500 members can access discounted advertising of up to 52% providing there is a commitment to a minimum of 4 adverts in a 12 month period.

All members joining under this category will receive a certificate of membership and the benefit of an announcement on social media, weekly review which should provide your business with additional publicity.

Professional Support

NFU Scotland has a team of first class policy professionals who each cover a range of agricultural sectors and who are constantly reviewing the political and legislative issues of the day. As a member you are welcome to contact anyone in the team.

We can provide you with the facts that best allow you to help your clients. Membership costs are calculated based on the number of employees that you have and you can sign up and join online now.

Associate Membership

If you are the spouse, son, daughter of an existing full member, then you can join as an Associate.

How Much Will It Cost?

Annual Subscriptions (excluding VAT):

  • Farming - £115 to £1,373 based on the quantity and quality of land farmed
  • Horticulture - £126 to £592 depending on the turnover of the business
  • Crofter - £73.00
  • Associate - £73.00
  • NFUS Professional - £328 to £2,081 depending on the number of employees in the business
