Industry Seeks Solutions as Borders Abattoir Stops Slaughtering Sheep and Cattle

Following the announcement last Monday (25 July) that Galashiels abattoir would cease killing cattle and sheep, NFU Scotland has held a meeting on Friday 29 July with a range of parties who will be affected by the decision.

NFU Scotland Welcomes Beef Calf Scheme Extension

These were the take-home messages for more than 40 visitors to the award-winning “Future farmer of the year” Drinkstone flock at Hawick, last Wednesday 27 July.
