Farmers Must Act to Ensure Payments are Protected

NFU Scotland is urging all 24,000 farm businesses in Scotland that receive a Single Farm Payment (SFP) and/or Less Favoured Area support (LFASS), to check their single application (SAF) claim forms now to reassure themselves that all the land involved in their 2010 claim is deemed eligible.

NFUS Issues Reminder on Double Tagging Rules

NFU Scotland is reminding farmers of the rules regarding the tagging of store lambs.  As the autumn markets get under way, it has been noticeable that a number of farmers are bringing store lambs to market with a double tag as standard.  In many cases, a single electronic slaughter tag may be all that is required, avoiding unnecessary double tagging.
