Lindsay Brown Takes on NFUS Lothians and Borders Regional Manager Role

NFU Scotland will retain its high level of service for its members in the Lothians and Borders whilst Regional Manager Kerry Clark is on maternity leave. Lindsay Brown, who farms in East Lothian, started with the Union in January and has been working alongside Kerry before officially taking over from tomorrow (Friday 1 March).

NFUS Returns to Westminster as Brexit Day Approaches

Union Reminds Members of Seasonal Hedge Cutting Ban

From 1 March until the 31 August a closed period comes into force that places a ban on cutting and trimming hedges and trees due to cross-compliance requirements. A hedge or tree may be trimmed from 1 August if the hedge or tree is in a field which will be sown with oilseed rape, temporary grass or another crop subject to prior written consent of Scottish Ministers, where the hedge or tree is adjacent to the field being sown.
