Blog Last week I used this blog to say that farmers must be valued in the supply chain, and we must be proud of the provenance story which we provide to the food and drink industry.Today I want to talk about provenance once more. Scotland is home to thousands of farms, each with their own story, their own name and their own specialisation. And virtually every one of them has bought in to our Scottish ‘farm assured’ message.

Blog Last week at Scotland’s Food and Drink Conference I had the pleasure of providing closing remarks.
The conference was dominated with the positive story that our food and drink industry had grown at an amazing pace over the last decade and that new ambitious companies were finding fantastic success. It was quite right that the tone was positive – our food has a unique story and it’s a story which we have to shout about far and wide.

Blog Let me explain why our rally at Holyrood went ahead last week and what we achieved in our lobbying effforts with Scottish GovernmentThe intervention by the First Minister last week means we finally know now when every farmer and crofter in Scotland will receive part payment of their much needed Basic Payment, Greening Payment, LFASS and beef coupled payments.

Blog The shift on LFASS payments must only be a stepping stone and I ask all farmers, crofters and associated trades to join us at our rally at the Scottish Parliament on 10 March at 11am as we impress on MSPs the need for more action to be taken.
