Phil Daughtrey and Stewart Duncan recognised at Union’s Annual Dinner in Glasgow.

The Cupar Office has been named the winner of NFU Scotland’s prestigious Membership Flame Award, with Phil Daughtrey and Stewart Duncan receiving the honour at the Union’s annual dinner in Glasgow.
The Membership Flame Award recognises outstanding achievement in member recruitment and retention and is awarded annually to the local office demonstrating exceptional performance across key criteria.
Based at Cupar, the team looks after the interests of the Union’s West Fife & Kinross and Northeast Fife Branch. Led by Phil Daughtrey and Stewart Duncan, the office exceeded its 2025 subscription income target and scored highly across all competition criteria, outperforming other agencies across Scotland.
Presenting the award at NFU Scotland’s Annual Conference and AGM, President Andrew Connon said:
“Determining the winners of the 2025 Membership Flame Award was not an easy task. There are three criteria used to determine recipients each year – member engagement, recruitment, and achievement of subscription income targets – and this agency has worked tirelessly for its members. In addition, the work done by the branch members and the Labour MP’s has helped the Union’s membership across the country.
Phil Daughtrey and Stewart Duncan have done a marvellous job and are thoroughly deserving winners. I congratulate them on their superb performance.”
NFU Scotland’s unique local secretary network operates on behalf of both NFU Scotland and NFU Mutual. Across ten Scottish regions, dedicated teams provide vital support and consistently high levels of service to members.
