Farmers Invited to Free Luss Fire and Rural Crime Event
Farmers in the Argyll and Bute and Forth and Clyde regions are invited to a free farm fire safety and crime prevention event.
The informal event, organised jointly by NFU Scotland, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Forestry Commission and Scottish Land and Estates, will provide a key opportunity to discuss current rural crime and fire-related issues.
Taking place at Luss Estates on Friday 17 June, the event will include practical demonstrations on security systems, crime prevention equipment and fire safety techniques.
This follows on from previous successful events held across the country by NFU Scotland and other stakeholders to encourage farmers to take practical steps to secure their property.
Tom French, NFU Scotland’s Regional Chairman for Forth and Clyde commented: “NFU Scotland continues to work with partner agencies to provide farmers with practical advice on protecting their property. This event is the latest in a series of similar events being organised by the Union across the country.
“Representatives from NFU Scotland, the police and the fire and rescue service will be on hand to provide advice and to discuss a wide range of issues including general and specific fire safety and crime prevention measures including wildlife crime.”
