North East’s Next Generation group are inviting all farmers to its next event on 13 July when they will be hosted by James and Nikki Yoxhall.
This event will highlight a very different style of farming which focuses on pasture and tree-fed beef, biodiversity, climate change mitigation and direct selling. James works with Highlands Rewilding as Head of Regenerative Agriculture, while Nikki is Head of Research at Pasture for Life. James and Nikki have no long-term tenancy agreements but have strong relationships with local landowners and estates.
North East’s Next Generation Vice Chair, Ellie Sinclair said: “This farm tour and walk and talk discussions are sure to be hugely inspirational and motivational for anyone and everyone, who are keen to think “outside the box.”
“We are hoping for a great turn-out of new entrants, next generation and anyone thinking about entering our farming industry. All farmers and interested parties are welcome to participate, so we will be pleased to see experienced, more senior farming folk join us. Your involvement and expertise will aid our discussions.”
Regional Manager: Lorna Paterson said: “This event will be of huge interest to all in the farming industry, and the very fact that James and Nikki are so passionate about local, Scottish meat production, is fantastic.
“They are ambassadors for lots of great, key messages which only serve to help us mitigate carbon and promote good biodiversity and climate change behaviours. I would urge anyone in our industry to participate if you are free that afternoon.”
