Forth and Clyde Appoints Sheena Foster as New Regional Manager

NFU Scotland’s Forth and Clyde Region has appointed Sheena Foster as its new Regional Manager.

Sheena is well-known within the region, having been brought up on a local farm at Strathaven, South Lanarkshire as well as a very active young farmer and a keen supporter of local shows.

Before joining NFUS, Sheena had been a national manager for the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) for the last five years.  As a young farmer, Sheena was chair and secretary of both East Kilbride Young Farmers and Lanarkshire District, before going on to chair West Area region.  Sheena is also secretary of East Kilbride Show Society.

Looking at her new position within NFU Scotland, Sheena said: “Through my role at SAYFC, I have gained valuable experience co-ordinating and recruiting as well as organising and promoting events and I hope to use these skills to assist NFU Scotland members in the region.

“Alongside my work on behalf of farmers in Forth and Clyde, I look forward to working with partners, supporters, stakeholders and external organisations to make sure the voice of food and farming across the whole supply chain in Forth and Clyde is heard loud and clear.”

Commenting on Sheena’s appointment NFU Scotland’s National Operations Manager, James Buchanan, said: “I am pleased to have Sheena join the NFU Scotland team as our new Regional Manager for Forth and Clyde.

“Sheena is already known to many of the members and joined us at the recent Forth and Clyde AGM and Hustings at the start of this month. It is great to welcome someone on board who has a connection to many of the members in the region and beyond.

“I ask the membership to make themselves known to Sheena at the events and meetings throughout the year and I know Sheena is looking forward working with Regional Chair Mark Donald to make sure the views and opinions of the Forth and Clyde region are well represented.”

Sheena is taking over the role from Lisa Roberts, who moved on to pastures new on Skye last November. On Lisa’s departure, James Buchanan adds: “Lisa said goodbye to her colleagues and regional board members last year after 21 years as a regional manager with NFU Scotland. Having looked after several regions in her time at NFU Scotland, there are many members Lisa will have helped over more than two decades. We wish her well as she sets out on her new life on Skye.”
