Farmers and crofters will be helping Forbes Farm Fresh at Inverness Farmers Market this Saturday (3 September) with hot, tasty Scotch Lamb rolls on the menu.
#LoveLambWeek, which runs from 1 September to 7 September, is a nationwide celebration of our fantastic lamb industry. In Scotland, Quality Meat Scotland’s ‘Wham Bam Thank You Lamb’ lamb promotion campaign is already underway and will run until October. This campaign will promote Scotch Lamb PGI through newspapers, outdoor posters, online and on the radio as well as in supermarkets and independent retailers.
Highland Regional Manager and local farmer Ian Wilson said: “Farmers and crofters are rightly proud of what they produce, and events like these provide a great platform for us to speak to shoppers and show the passion we have for putting quality food onto our nation’s tables.
“At this time of year, Scotch Lamb is at its tastiest and most plentiful. This is a chance for people to try Scotch Lamb and support Scottish farmers by buying our produce.
“I urge any sheep farmers who would like to get involved to get in touch – past experience has always seen us get a great response from shoppers who really appreciate finding out more about how their food is produced from those hard-working farmers and crofters who are at the very beginning of this iconic Scottish food chain.”
