Inverurie consumers show support for Scotch Lamb at NFUS promotional day
Shoppers in Inverurie showed their support for Scotch Lamb PGI at an NFU Scotland promotional day held on Saturday.
A number of NFU Scotland Aberdeenshire branches were represented, and so many shoppers were inspired to go and buy the product that the store even ran out of lamb.
The event, on Saturday 22 August at Aldi, Inverurie, tied in with the Love Scotch Lamb campaign currently being run by Quality Meat Scotland, which NFU Scotland supports. It gave shoppers the chance to speak to sheep farmers first hand and find out about the tasty meat.
They also got the chance to try Scotch Lamb, with many voicing their support and commitment to go and buy the meat.
NFU Scotland’s North East Regional Manager Lorna Paterson, commented: “The day proved a success, with a positive feel throughout the event. We had a fantastic response from all involved, and the store was inundated with people looking to buy Scotch Lamb, so much so that it sold out.
“The event provided the opportunity to speak to members of the public and for them to learn where the produce comes from and the effort and love that goes into it from our farmers that makes it so tasty.
“Thank you to everyone who came along, spoke to us and committed to trying Scotch Lamb.”
