Issued on behalf of the Tenant Farming Forum

At a meeting of the Tenant Farming Forum (TFF) in Inverness today, Wednesday 4 April, Cabinet Secretary Richard Lochhead provided his support for the acceleration programme of work planned for the next 18-month period.

In its planned framework for progress TFF will provide reports on rent reviews, equipment, repair-renewal, investment and improvement, waygo, diversification, and assignation and successions.

Phil Thomas, TFF Chairman said:

"For each of the issues that have been identified by the TFF as the cause of potential conflict between landlords and tenants, we will seek resolution on the basis of consensus.

"The discussion with the Cabinet Secretary was very constructive and fulfilling, and highlighted the priority being given by the Scottish Government to promoting a vibrant tenanted sector in Scotland."
