Lanark Office Announced Winners of NFU Scotland’s Flame Award

Nigel Power named recipient of award during Union’s annual dinner in Glasgow.

The Membership Flame – the NFU Scotland award that recognises outstanding efforts in recruitment and retention of members - has gone to the hard-working Nigel Power from the Lanark office.

Looking after the interests of the Union’s Clydesdale Branch, the Lanark office team based at Lanark Market and headed up by Nigel Power, ended the year surpassing their targeted subscription income set for 2024 and excelling in all the competition criteria to beat stiff opposition from other agencies across the country.

Presenting the award at the Union’s annual conference and AGM in Glasgow, NFU Scotland President, Martin Kennedy said: “Determining the winners of the 2025 Membership Flame Award was not an easy task.  There are three criteria that are used to determine recipients of the Flame Award each year - member engagement, recruitment, and achievement of subscription income target and it is clear that this agency has worked tirelessly for their members. Nigel Power has done a marvellous job and is a deserved winner.  I congratulate on Nigel on his superb performance.”

The Union’s unique local secretary network works on behalf of both NFU Scotland and NFU Mutual. The team of dedicated staff consistently provide excellent service to members across the ten Scottish regions.
