NFU Scotland’s Board of Directors has a fresh look following recent national, regional and committee elections.At its recent virtual council meeting, Highland Perthshire farmer Martin Kennedy was elected the 63rd President of NFU Scotland while Andrew Connon from Aberdeenshire and Robin Traquair from Midlothian are the Union’s new Vice Presidents.
Following regional AGMs in January and committee elections last week, there are several other changes to regional and committee leadership roles meaning that the Union’s board has a several new faces. The new regional chairs are Caroline Millar (East Central); Mark Donald (Forth & Clyde); Debbie Playfair (Lothian & Borders); Alan Simpson (North East) and Steven Sandison (Orkney and Shetland). The new chairman of the Union’s Environment and Land Use Committee is Borders farmer Peter Douglas. Poultry working group chair Robert Thompson replaces Pig Working Group chair Jamie Wyllie as the Pig and Poultry representative on the board. Notes to Editors
