NFU Scotland Expands Communications Team

Ross Parker joins team as Communications & Social Media Assistant

Ross Parker joined NFU Scotland this week where he will work across the Communications team to support the organisation’s communications and social media messaging.

Since graduating from the University of Glasgow with a Master’s degree in International Relations in 2020, Ross has worked as a Communications Assistant with Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire, where he created social media content and supported organisation-wide communications.

Commenting on his new role with NFU Scotland, Ross said: “I am very excited to be joining NFU Scotland, especially at such an important time for Scottish agriculture. Social media’s importance as a tool for our lobbying efforts continues to grow, and I am very much looking forward to supporting this and helping to tackle the big challenges in Scottish agriculture today.”

Communications Director at NFU Scotland, Bob Carruth added: “It is great to have Ross join the team at what is a pivotal moment in Scottish agriculture and a hugely busy time for NFU Scotland.

“With NFU Scotland’s autumn conference at Dunfermline on 27 October, our rally at Holyrood on 2 November, AgriScot on the 16 November and our response to Scottish Government’s controversial Agriculture Bill due to be submitted on 21 November, our social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be key to keeping our members informed of our lobbying work on their behalf.”
