NFU Scotland Roadshow Coming to Argyll and The Islands to Debate Future Agricultural Policy
Farmers and crofters invited to attend events at 7.30pm on the 25 May at the Town Hall, Campbeltown and the 26 of May at the Rockfield Centre in Oban
NFU Scotland are on the road with a series of 12 events to discuss future agricultural policy in Scotland.
The events – taking place in Shetland, Orkney, Skye, Inverurie, Stepps, Carfraemill, Castle Douglas, Dingwall, Perth, Kilmarnock, Campbeltown and Oban – invite farmers and crofters to discuss Scotland’s transition from a post-Brexit, post-Common Agricultural Policy support framework to a new agricultural policy in Scotland, expected to be in place by 2025.
All NFU Scotland roadshow events will be attended by President Martin Kennedy and Director of Policy Jonnie Hall.
Ahead of the roadshow events in Oban and Campbeltown, Regional Manager for Argyll and the Islands Lauren Worrell, said: “I am very much looking forward to the events as an opportunity to meet many of the members for the first time since joining NFU Scotland in March. This is a great opportunity for members to come along to engage and ask questions about this critical piece of work, and the progress towards the new future support system for Scottish agriculture. It is important that the regions views are heard”.
