Farmers and crofters invited to attend events on Wednesday 18 May at Broadford Village Hall and Thursday 19 May in Dingwall
NFU Scotland are on the road with a series of 12 events to discuss future agricultural policy in Scotland.
The events – taking place in Shetland, Orkney, Skye, Inverurie, Stepps, Carfraemill, Castle Douglas, Dingwall, Perth, Kilmarnock, Campbeltown and Oban – invite farmers and crofters to discuss Scotland’s transition from a post-Brexit, post-Common Agricultural Policy support framework to a new agricultural policy in Scotland, expected to be in place by 2025.
All NFU Scotland roadshow events will be attended by President Martin Kennedy and Director of Policy Jonnie Hall.
Ahead of the roadshows in the Highland region this week, Regional Manager Ian Wilson said: “We look forward to welcoming members to our two roadshow events in Broadford Village Hall and Dingwall Auction Market. This is an opportunity to hear the latest update from Martin and Jonnie on the progress towards the new future support system for Scottish agriculture, and to gather members views on how these plans could work within our region. It is important that the regions views are heard - especially during the current, very turbulent times.”
