NFU Scotland Strengthens Communications Team with New Appointment

NFU Scotland has strengthened its communications team with the appointment of Diana McGowan as its Senior Communications and Publications Manager.

Diana joins the Union after working as Communications Manager at Forestry Commission Scotland from 2005 to April 2019, when she became Publications and Internal Communications Manager for Scottish Forestry.

As well as general communications and media support, Diana’s main roles will involve the editing and production of the Union’s flagship monthly magazine, Scottish Farming Leader, as well as annual publications like its annual report.

NFU Scotland’s Communications Director Bob Carruth said: “The task of communicating the role and purpose of NFU Scotland to our members, the wider food and farming sector, the general public, policymakers and politicians has never been more important.

“The industry has rarely faced such a period of uncertainty and having a very experienced communicator like Diana as part of the team at this time will be invaluable to the Union.”

Commenting on her appointment, Diana McGowan said: “Effective communication and engagement with our stakeholders is crucial. I am thrilled to be joining the team at this challenging time and am relishing the opportunity to positively contribute to the inspiring work already being done by all at NFU Scotland on behalf of its members across the country.”
