NFU Scotland Welcomes Two New Faces to the Finance and Sales and Marketing Teams
Union adds new Accounts Assistant and Customer Service Advisor to the growing team
Amanda Gillespie and Ailsa Brien have joined NFU Scotland as Accounts Assistant and Customer Service Advisor, respectively.
Amanda Gillespie, who started this week, will be assisting with the accounts function within the Finance Team. She brings with her more than fifteen years of bookkeeping and admin experience having worked in payroll for a number of large companies, and most recently for a family building firm where she was responsible for the day-to-day administration including finances.
Looking at her new role within NFU Scotland, Amanda said: “I am really looking forward to joining the NFU Scotland Finance Team and I can’t wait to be part of the office environment! There is a lot to learn but I am excited to get started and to face the challenges the role will bring, using my experience to help support the work the Union does for its members.”
Commenting on Amanda’s appointment, NFU Scotland’s Head of Finance Colin Gordon said: “I am delighted to welcome Amanda to the team in the newly created post of Accounts Assistant. Amanda brings with her a wealth of experience in administration and payroll that will be invaluable. She will be working closely alongside Kim and myself, assisting with the accounts functions in a role that is expected to expand over time.”
Ailsa Brien who joined the Union prior to Christmas worked for several years with Standard Life as a Customer Services Advisor, before setting up a bakery.
She is now bringing her extensive experience in high level customer service, marketing, sales, and e-commerce to her role as Customer Service Advisor at NFU Scotland.
Commenting on her new role, Ailsa said: “With a family history in pig farming and growing up in the rural Scottish Borders, agriculture has always been a key part of my life. When the opportunity arose to work for NFU Scotland I jumped at the chance. Coming to the Union at such a time of change and growth is really exciting, and I am looking forward using my experience to play my part in helping our membership in whatever way I can.”
On Ailsa’s appointment, Head of Sales and Marketing Team Jackie Saunders added: “We have welcomed Ailsa at an exciting time, she will be joining new members and assisting with affinity discounts. Ailsa is an excellent addition to our team, and I am looking forward to working with her to develop her in her new role at NFU Scotland.”
