NFU Scotland is reminding all farmers and land managers that they have only a few days left to submit their Single Application Form (SAF) to their local Scottish Government Rural Payments and Inspections Directorate (SGRPID) office or to complete the application on line.
Monday, 17th May 2010 is the deadline for the submission of SAFs and all supporting documentation. This must be completed to ensure farmers receive their Single Farm Payment (SFP), Less Favoured Areas Support Scheme (LFASS) and Land Management Contract Menu Scheme (LMCMS) payments.
Forms submitted after 17th May will be subject to a one per cent penalty per day and forms submitted after 1st June will not be considered at all, leading to a total loss of support payments. Forms submitted on time can be changed up until the end of May without penalty.
NFU Scotland’s Policy Director, Scott Walker said:
“The support delivered into Scottish agriculture by the various schemes associated with the Single Application Form remains fundamental to the well being of more than 20,000 farming and crofting businesses in Scotland.
“Meeting the Monday, 17 May deadline is in the best interests of all claimants with a reminder that claim forms submitted by this date can still be altered, without penalty, before the end of May.”
