TFF Publishes Rent Review Good Practice Guide

The Tenant Farming Forum has today published Farm Rent Reviews - Introduction and Guide to Good Practice. This brief guide is intended to be issued as an accompanying document to be included with formal rent review notices.

The publication is the first stage in the development of a series of documents designed to facilitate good working relationships between landowners and tenants and signals the planned publication of a comprehensive Practitioners’ Guide to Scottish Agricultural Rent Reviews to be published in the autumn of this year.

Commenting on Farm Rent Reviews - Introduction and Guide to Good Practice, Phil Thomas, Chairman of the TFF said:

“This new guide provides a brief factual statement of what is considered as good practice in farm rent reviews. It is intended to act as a clear pointer to everyone - both landlords and tenants – of the best way to go about things within the legal framework of the agricultural holdings acts.

“It is important that the rent review process is conducted in a systematic and well understood way, allowing both parties to feel that their individual and joint interests have been taken into account. We hope that this brief guide will help to facilitate that process.”
