Union Announces Deal with Energy Firm E.ON

NFU Scotland is pleased to announce that its latest membership deal is a partnership with energy company E.ON

E.ON is one of the UK’s leading integrated energy companies, supplying power and gas to more than 5 million homes and businesses across the country.

The deal guarantees that any NFUS member seeking gas or electricity will receive the best available price from E.ON that day, based on the businesses’ consumption.

Announcing the deal, NFU Scotland Chief Executive Scott Walker said:

“Energy remains a major input cost on almost all Scottish farms.  This deal, with a top UK energy supplier, offers the potential to strip costs out of the businesses, helping to drive efficiencies and keep our members’ farms competitive.

“With a dedicated contact within E.ON for switching supplies, our members are guaranteed an excellent level of service.  I would strongly encourage all members to check that they are receiving the best available price for their energy when their contract comes up for renewal”

Iain Walker, Head of SME at E.ON, said:

“Energy is a significant part of farming costs and I hope our partnership with NFUS allows us not only to provide competitive deals for members but also to help in making sure our farming customers use, and therefore pay for, no more energy than they need.

“By taking advantage of the help and advice in our new Energy Toolkit customers can see at-a-glance how much appliances cost, the potential savings they could make and payback periods for new technologies. And by speaking to our dedicated advisers, customers can take any guesswork out of simple energy efficiency measures or even larger budget investments that could provide greater benefit over a longer period of time."
