Angus farmer, Colin Gibson is celebrating after securing the use of a brand new tractor for the next five months, following NFU Scotland’s annual membership draw.
The draw is designed to encourage members to pay their annual membership promptly and all NFUS members paid up by 31 January 2011 gained free entry to the draw.
The result of the draw, announced at the Union’s AGM and annual dinner in St Andrews today (Monday 14 February) will see a Claas Axos 320 Tractor delivered to his farm at Westerton of Stracathro near Brechin. The loan of the tractor is kindly given by Claas distributors, Sellars.
On picking up the keys, a delighted Colin Gibson said:
“When I got the call saying that my name had been pulled out of the hat, I was a bit taken aback but I am highly delighted to have won. This is a new type of tractor for me, which will be very interesting. I’ll make good use of it over harvest time, carting grain and bales and, if it is big enough, using it to plough.”
