Access to the countryside is a key policy issue for NFU Scotland members and we recognise the frustration and financial costs that it can involve. For 2021, we have a new campaign dedicated to help farmers address access issues. On this page you will be able to find information and downloadable resources such as signage and posters, to help you try to prevent issues from occurring before they begin.  You will also be signposted to where you can find more help if you are suffering from issues.

NFUS urges members to report any access problems to both their local access officer and there NFUS Regional Manager. NFUS is logging all access issues reported by members, and these will be invaluable to provide an accurate picture of the scale and type of issues being experienced. You can also log an access issue directly by clicking on the ‘Access Issues Log’ below.

NFUS will continue to represent farmers on industry stakeholder groups and make representations  directly to Scottish Government to press for legislative changes.
