Tom French

Legal & Technical Committee Chairman

Tom French farms 200 acres of upland grass/arable at Balgray, Crawfordjohn, Biggar, in Lanarkshire . The farm rises to 1000 ft above sea level and  carries a stock of 60 Beef sucklers ( mainly Limousin cross ) and a flock of 60 Ewes ( mainly Zwartble and Zwartble cross).  All progeny other than those kept for replacements are sold through the auction system at local marts.

The farm participates in a Agri-Environment scheme and is involved in a project seeking to enhance the habitats for wading birds and other wildlife.

Tom`s family have been members of NFUS for as long as can be remembered.  Tom started attending meetings of his local Clydesdale branch around 2009, going on to hold elected positions at local, regional and national level.

Tom is the current Legal and Technical Committee Chair, he represents the committee at the NFUS Board of directors and  attends relevant policy meetings on behalf of NFUS Members .
