Less Favoured Areas – Delivering for Scotland
With some 86 per cent of the total agricultural land area in Scotland designated as Less Favoured Area, NFU Scotland has produced a policy document that outlines our proposals on how to secure the many benefits of active farming and crofting in these challenging landscapes in the future. Those proposals are set against a backdrop of uncertainty surrounding future funding.
In the document, NFU Scotland sets out the importance of Scotland’s LFA in terms of what it delivers, both directly and indirectly. In addition, NFU Scotland makes the case for continued and refined support for active farming and crofting across the LFA.
