Argyll & the Islands

Lucy Sumsion

Lucy Sumsion

As regional manager for Argyll and the Islands, my role is a diverse one, and I am primarily here to support and assist members within this region.

I work with your regional representatives, and I also represent NFU Scotland locally on several stakeholder groups.

Brexit continues to dominate the headlines, with NFU Scotland officeholders and staff spending a significant amount of time dealing with the challenges that leaving the European Union will raise. The day job continues and local issues also need to be tackled. Sadly, Argyll and the Islands have seen a number of livestock attacks recently, which can be distressing and costly for all involved. NFU Scotland’s Control Your Dog on Farmland campaign, launched in February 2019, is a significant one for the Union. We would encourage all members to support the campaign.

NFU Scotland is here to support its members in any way that it can. The local branches and group secretaries are a good way of engaging with the development of policy and to raise issues. Support your local branch and let them know your thoughts and ideas.
John Dickson, your Regional Board Chairman, and the other regional board members, committee representatives, branch chairs and monitors are all here to support members and to represent your interests.

NFU Scotland - Argyll and the Islands also has an active Facebook page, to keep you up to date with activities. I am keen to get out and about across the region as much as possible to meet members and help you with any specific issues or concerns that you have.
